Kittens!

New! (12/21/04) We've decided to keep the kittens!

Yes, this means we have 5 cats now, but gosh, I raised these two from tiny little things, bottle-feeding them for several weeks, and they already get along with all our other pets (well, except one of the other cats, Fox, who's pretty much terrified of them, which they take shameless advantage of!).

I'll post more recent pictures of "Grey Ghost" and "Fudge" when I get a chance. (Yup, they have names now! and aren't just called "Grey" and "Black" anymore! And if you don't know me and are wondering why we named them that, see my company's website at http://www.fudgerpg.com!)

(10/23) Growing Kittens

Thursday night (Sep. 30), Paul and Nico discovered that someone had dumped two kittens in our garage. They were cold and very hungry. A quick call to my vet Charlotte Newell and a Google search on "abandoned kittens care" later, I was a bona-fide foster mom.

Friday, I took the kittens to the Randolph Animal Hospital and my vet Susan Harrington. They got weighed (334 grams and 280 grams), examined for ear mites (no sign) and fleas (of course they had fleas!), dewormed, and bathed (Ivory soap and a very gentle flea bath for kittens). Then home they came again.

Here they are:

I'm calling them "Black" (the little female) and "Grey" (the male). I don't want to really name them as that will make it harder when it's time to let them go to new homes.

Here's Grey at his cutest:

Here's Black (being held by Ann Marie):

Here they both are a couple of days later, intrepid explorers:

Stay tuned! More pictures to follow.
